What does a freight forwarder do?
A freight forwarder books your international freight, prepares export and import documentation, coordinates customs through a licensed broker, and arranges delivery — so you manage one coordinator instead of carriers and brokers separately.
Is a freight forwarder the same as a customs broker?
No. A freight forwarder coordinates transportation, documentation, and carriers; customs clearance is a separate, regulated activity. ARDI coordinates your freight and works with a licensed customs broker for clearance.
Do I need a freight forwarder to import from China?
For commercial volumes, a freight forwarder handles pickup, freight, customs, and delivery end to end. ARDI coordinates this from supplier to final U.S. delivery.
What’s the difference between DDP and DDU?
With DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), duties and taxes are handled within your quote where contract terms confirm it. With DDU, the buyer settles duties on arrival. ARDI offers both.
FCL or LCL — which should I choose?
FCL (full container) suits full loads and planned volume; LCL (consolidated) suits smaller shipments that don’t fill a container. We recommend the option that fits your volume when you request a quote.
What’s the difference between LCL and LTL?
LCL is consolidated ocean freight; LTL is consolidated road freight. Both let you pay for the space your cargo uses instead of a full container or trailer.

Ocean suits planned, cost-sensitive inventory; air suits time-critical shipments. We match the mode to your margin and deadline.
