Built for Importers Moving Freight — Not Parcels
ARDI ships commercial freight from China to the U.S. for businesses moving cartons, pallets, and full containers — delivered to your own warehouse, a 3PL, a client's warehouse, a business address, a door, or Amazon FBA, with cross-docking when cargo needs to move straight through.
How to Ship From China to the USA
One quote, one point of contact — from your supplier's door to your U.S. destination.
Your China-to-USA Freight Forwarder
As your freight forwarder from China to the USA, ARDI coordinates the full lane: supplier pickup, export documentation, ocean or air freight, customs clearance through a licensed broker, import duties, and final delivery. Unlike asset-light forwarders that route your goods through third-party warehouses, ARDI receives and handles your cargo in its own U.S. facilities — one chain of responsibility from port to destination.
Ocean, Air & DDP Shipping From China
Every mode includes customs coordination and delivery from our own U.S. warehouse.
DDP & DDU Shipping From China to the USA
ARDI ships door-to-door on both terms so you choose how duties are handled. The difference is who pays import duties and taxes — so it's spelled out below.
How Much Does Shipping From China to the USA Cost?
Your cost depends on mode (ocean vs air), chargeable weight or volume (CBM), container type for FCL, customs duties and the Merchandise Processing Fee, and final delivery. Cargo value, product category, and peak-season capacity also move the price. Because ocean and air rates shift with capacity and season, ARDI quotes each shipment on your actual cargo details rather than a fixed table.
How Long Does Shipping From China to the USA Take?
Transit depends on mode and coast. By standard ocean, cargo typically reaches our California warehouse in about 35 days and our New Jersey warehouse in about 40 days, door-to-warehouse; air freight is faster, roughly one to two weeks door-to-door. Ocean LCL adds a few days for consolidation.
Your Cargo Stays in Our Own U.S. Warehouses
Most China-to-USA forwarders are asset-light and hand your goods to third-party warehouses they don't control — where shipments sit, get mislabeled, or go missing. ARDI is different: your cargo is received and handled in our own California and New Jersey facilities under one chain of responsibility, and it's covered for loss and damage through our forwarding partner (subject to policy terms).
Need storage, unloading, cross-docking, or 3PL fulfillment after arrival? Because the receiving warehouse is ours, we can cross-dock straight through or hold and prep — without handing it to a third party. See our warehousing & 3PL services →

China → USA freight, answered
How long does shipping from China to the USA take?
Standard ocean transit runs about 35 days to our California warehouse and 40 days to New Jersey; air freight is faster, roughly one to two weeks door-to-door. Customs and consolidation add time.
How much does it cost to ship from China to the USA?
Cost depends on mode, chargeable weight or volume, container type, customs duties, and delivery. ARDI quotes each shipment on your cargo details — request a quote for your exact landed cost.
Do I need a freight forwarder to import from China?
For commercial freight, a forwarder handles pickup, international transport, customs, and delivery so you don't coordinate carriers and brokers yourself. ARDI does this end to end from supplier to your U.S. destination.
Do you handle customs and duties?
Customs clearance is coordinated through a licensed customs broker. On DDP terms, import duties and taxes are handled within your quote.
Is my cargo insured?
Cargo is covered for loss and damage through ARDI's forwarding partner, subject to policy terms and exclusions. Coverage is confirmed per shipment.
Ocean or air freight — which should I choose?
Ocean suits planned, cost-sensitive freight (from 100 kg); air suits time-critical cargo (from 40 kg). ARDI recommends the mode that fits your timeline and margin.
What's the minimum shipment?
Best fit is freight-sized: from 40 kg by air, 100 kg by ocean, up to full containers. Smaller shipment? Contact us and we'll advise.
Where can you deliver in the U.S.?
To your own warehouse, a 3PL, a client's warehouse, a business address, door (residential), or Amazon FBA — with cross-docking for onward shipping — nationwide, from our California and New Jersey facilities.
Do you offer DDU / DAP as well as DDP?
Yes. With DDP, ARDI handles duties and taxes. With DDU/DAP, we handle pickup, freight, and delivery while duties and taxes are paid by the consignee as importer of record. We'll help you choose at quote stage.
How do I avoid customs delays and demurrage?
Accurate documents, correct HS codes, and early booking prevent most holds and port storage charges. ARDI's broker-coordinated customs and own-warehouse receiving reduce port dwell.
Can you handle peak-season shipping?
Yes. Rates and space tighten in peak season — booking early and planning routing protects your timeline and cost. Request a quote ahead of your cargo-ready date.
